This hard enamel pin is inspired by Amund Dietzel, a legendary tattoo artist born in Norway in 1891. He began his career as a sailor, where he learned the art of hand-poked tattoos. Famous for his distinctive "Dietzel Girls," lady head tattoos with masquerade masks, Dietzel significantly influenced the American traditional tattoo style and tattooed thousands, especially during the World Wars. Despite Milwaukee banning tattooing in 1967, his legacy lives on through his influential flash art and the many artists he inspired.
